What is PBIS?

PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports and is a proactive approach to establishing positive behaviors needed in school for all students to achieve social, emotion, and academic success. Jane Addams School promotes PBIS in several ways.

• Panther Bucks are given for positive behavior and can be spent in the school store.

• Cool Tools

PBIS at Jane Addams

Each morning students recite the Panther Pledge which is “Be Respectful. Be Responsible. Be Ready.”  Students are encouraged to be respectful, responsible, and ready throughout their school day.  Students are rewarded with Panther Dollars for demonstrating appropriate behavior.  Students can then use their Panther Dollars to purchase items at the Panther Store.  The Jane Addams PBIS Team also plans a variety of fun and engaging PBIS celebrations throughout the year.
